Business Trip

The Warlock's been gone since Sunday, and I've been appalled at my reaction to his first business trip. Usually when the Warlock goes away (for football games, backpacking, or the bar exam), he calls quite frequently to tell us how much he loves us and wishes we could be with him. This time, it's been very very different. He's called, but to say that he only has thirty seconds and then must go back to work. I'm finding myself going through a grief cycle of sorts. I'm fine most of the time, but then I'll be ANGRY. I'll be mad at the warlock for choosing this demanding job, mad at his firm, and then mad at myself for being such a baby. I'll clean like mad for an hour, and then sit down and stare at the dog. Anyway, Warlock come home! We miss you! Single parenthood is NOT for me.

I know how you feel. Phil actually travels quite a bit with his current job. It stinks, but I have learned to enjoy sleeping in the middle of the bed while he's gone! So spacious. :)

His first trip! Drew has been on about a billion. I wish I could say that they get better but for us it still stinks.

business trips are NO FUN. you'd think they would be. nice hotel, nice dinners, (usually) nice cities...

but they are NO FUN. trust me, you'd rather be in your nice house in familiar surroundings and not feeling like you are on call for work 24/7.

on another note - i've been trying to get your address from your husband with no success. Can you email it to me? it's my whole name at gmail dot com. (firstmaidenlast).

You think it was bad for you? I kept hearing my cell phone ring and knowing it was you - but also knowing I had an urgent fire to put out. A full week on 6 hours of sleep isn't my idea of fun either, and I'm glad to be back.
