Trying

I have a constant battle with my home. Clutter seems to seep out through the corners. It takes so much work to even keep up on the laundry. I know, I know, I'm whining.

Here's a quote by Daryl Hoole, homemaker extrodinaire: "Establishing an orderly house requires desire, good habits, energy, personal discipline, and the cooperation of family members."

Is that all? Sheesh. What's my problem anyway?

I definitely feel your pain! I spent hours yesterday cleaning and you can't tell at all anymore. It's frustrating. I'm waiting impatiently for the invention of a self-cleaning house.

yup, just those six "little" things!

Even if the first requirements were easy (which they are not - even on a good day, i mean really, desire and energy or lack thereof says it all!), that last one is impossible - cooperation of family members !?! You'll have to let me know if the stars ever align at your house and all of those characteristics coexist at one time - I know it would be a day to remember here :)

I'm single and I don't even cooperate with myself sometimes...

I have to agree with Flora--I blame my messy house on the lack of cooperation of family members! Of course, it could also be that there are about 89 things I'd rather do than clean.
PS. Your kids are kind, smart, and fun. Who cares if the floor is dirty?

I never could keep an immaculate house. I would get busy sewing, or reading, or gardening and lose everything else. When I came to, I the house would look like a hurricane hit. Maybe you go into the zone too. It could be genetic.
