Girly Girls?

Pippi, being 8 years of age, is now old enough to participate in some youth activities at the church every other Wednesday night. We mothers have enough driving around to do so we carpool. As I was driving Pippi and one of her compatriots home, the compatriot informed me, "Tonight we learned about manners. I'm not gonna need 'em though, because I'm not a girly girl." It's so hard for me to keep a straight face sometimes... My own "I am not a girly girl stage" lasted until I was a mother.

Pippi came home with this quote: "For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone. "--Audrey Hepburn

I think that quote may be wall-worthy.

And here are pictures of my girls, who are everything they should be right now and are getting better everyday.

And here's Stacy, lent to me for a few short years, who first showed me how precious a girl could be.

Great quotes and thoughts. I, too, resisted being a "girly girl" and still am not sure where I am on the meter... I guess it doesn't really matter, does it, Pippi?

I can't believe Pippi is old enough for activity day. I'm sure I would have turned my nose up at manners since I wasn't a girly girl either. My Aunt and Mom wouldn't let me get away with it, though. I wonder if Stacy would have been a girly girl?

Three beautiful, happy, smart, and incredibly special girls! Their mother must be quite amazing. :-)
