I'm Telling the Truth

Here is part of our family room.

This is the entryway from the family room.
This is the entryway looking into the family room.
This is the entryway looking upstairs.

The picture below will be going above the mantle, in the area that is painted SW French Roast.

The yellow is the Sherwin Williams color-matched copy of Benjamin Moore Hawthorne Yellow. It's more vibrant than I though it would be, but I like it. When the sun shines through the door in the morning sometimes the lower entryway wall looks like it's sparkling. It's beautiful, and I'm very very happy with these yellow walls. Thanks to all who let me talk to them about paint colors. Hopefully I didn't bore you with my obsession.

It does look beautiful--light, bright, airy and cheerful. Good choice!

your entry way looks so grand! I like the color, it's not too yellow-y like I had originally in my head. it's nice, mellow and subtle. and I love the french roast color. glad to hear you're being honest.

Maybe it's the camera, but the yellow doesn't look all that intense. When I took a decorating class, they told us people associate yellow with enlightenment and knowledge.

I was expecting something gawdy and visually offensive based on what you said about it previously. But I LOVE this! It looks wonderful!

I like the yellow! I think it's perfect for your family--nice and sunny. And much better than boring beige!

you are giving me ideas ... and motivation ... Josh isn't too excited about that ... I've had a butter yellow paint chip taped to the wall in my family room / kitchen area for about 6 months now ... maybe after Christmas ... it looks so warm, inviting and beautiful - could be a description of you :)

Wow. I love it. I know it is a lot of work but so worth it to beautify the walls you stare at and clean (again and again).

Really nice! I'm in the middle of trying to find colors for my office. I should come over and pick your brain. You've done a marvelous job!
