I'm thankful:

-for the Warlock's job.  I found myself complaining about it today, but really our family has a sweet deal.

-for peaceful nights.  The Warlock took Pippi out to dinner tonight leaving me with just 2 kids.  Easy!

-for a kitchen to clean.

-for family coming for Thanksgiving

-for pure, clean, cold water.

Notes from today:

Bardo had a rough day at school.  After he got home I noticed the chocolate chips container open and that many of them were gone.  I wonder if he got into them before I woke up and then crashed.  He was fine when he got home, though.  He's really starting bond with Boo and look at her has a playmate rather than competition for my attention.  Yesterday I caught him taking a pancake out of her hand.  He talked her through what he was doing.  "Here Boo, I'm taking your pancake, and I'm going to tear it into two pieces.  Here.  I'll take the bigger half."  Surprisingly, she was totally cool with that.  I suppose it's all in the delivery when you're speaking to an almost-2-year old.

Boo and I spent a lot of time running around today.  She took it like a champ.

Pippi and I are now reading The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate.  We haven't even finished the first chapter yet, but we both already love it.

I took broken screens to Ace Hardware to be repaired today.  And I had the paint store shake the paint I bought 2 months ago.  I painted our powder room last Saturday.  I was disappointed to discover that I'm not a good painter.  I watched the professionals very carefully and tried to do it like them but still got paint on the ceiling and base boards.  Hopefully I'll get good, because we still need to paint bedrooms and bathrooms around here.  I'm dreading this next painting project because I allowed Pippi to pick the colors for her room, and one of the colors she picked is call Feverish Pink.  It's an extremely hot red.  Why did I agree to this?

Oddly, my dog enjoys guacamole.

I'm thankful for your blog because it makes me look at the things I'm thankful for. I'm glad for the reminder.

If I were there, I'd paint with you. I got a lot of practice since Kolby's family runs a painting company. And I love to paint, it relaxes me.

I've always done my own painting becausethere was no extra money to hire a painter. I have to admit, I hate painting and am always getting paint where I don't want it.
