First Day of Preschool

Today I sent a a kid to preschool from 8:30 to 2:30. I never thought I would do such a thing. It seems like such a long time for him to be away. And though I nearly shed a tear on my way to the car after dropping him off, the day went peacefully by and Bardo came home and told me all about it. He loved the big tricycles. He told me he was as quiet as a marshmallow during the naptime of the babies in the classroom next door. He read a story about a frog that wears underwear. A girl had a hard time sharing the tricycle at recess. He got to eat a snack and a lunch at school. Everyone except for him had fishy crackers for snack; he had an orange, and that's not fair, so when he grows up he's going to buy fishy crackers for him and Boo to snack on. (Hopefully Boo will outgrow her dairy allergy so she doesn't ruin his plan.) He cut on the dotted lines with orange scissors, but another boy had blue scissors, and those are the ones he wanted. He explained his sequencing assignment to me quite well. Frankly, I'm amazed and grateful at the vivid description of his day. Hopefully he'll keep it up.

His teachers pegged him pretty well on the first day, sending home a note that reads: I loved Bardo's stories today. He is so serious at times and then shares his sweet smile.

That is amazing! I could not get anything out of Eli about what they did! If it weren't for the next morning when he cried all day long as he realized his preschool was not every day, I never would have known he liked it so much! :) I guess that means he liked it?! :)

I got some details from Isaac, but not nearly as many as that! I'm glad he enjoyed himself. Isaac talked about the big tricycle too. We need to get them together this week. :)
