Forgiveness

Today was Daphne's first dance class.  She was so happy as we walked home in the sunshine, and she looked so pretty in her pink tights, pink leotard and pink tutu.  She chattered away telling me how well she listened to her teacher even though some of the other girls were not so perfect.  I'm grateful to have little glimpses into her world and that I get to spend so much time with her.  After running to the duck pond, Daphne wore herself out and wanted to be carried.  I'm grateful that I'm strong enough to carry her 3/4 of a mile on my shoulders without feeling like it's a burden.  We had a great talk.  We were both feeling happy so I made a request, "Daphne, when you grow up will you remember this fun time with me?  And will you forget all my mean parts?"  And she said yes, of course.  And for that, I'm the most grateful.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if life had no mean parts.
