Lentil Soup and then some...

Today, I am grateful for lentil soup, particularly the Spicy Lentil Soup in Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything. I was the only one in my family grateful for this soup, but I'm grateful that the rest of the family partook of spinach salad and whole grain bread and blackberries. I hope they can feel the love as I try to build them up with healthy plant foods. Today, as I was putting on Bardo's shoes at our favorite heated indoor swimming pool, I told Bardo that we had a warm soup waiting at home. "Can you put chicken in it?" my boy asks. Maybe next time I'll forget the cayenne and he can be grateful for the lentil soup, without chicken.

I'm grateful for my first family--my mom, my dad, my sisters, my brother. They are so important to me, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. I loved talking to my mom and dad today, and getting an email from my sis telling me about this.

I'm grateful for Bardo's preschool. They take good care of him and make him feel special the two days a week he goes there. I'm grateful for the time away from him because it makes me enjoy him all the more when I have him.

I'm grateful the Warlock came home for lunch today.

I'm grateful Boo can talk and tell me what she wants and needs. She's a good, sweet girl.

Today I am grateful for clean underwear. Life would be so miserable without it. Can I have the lentil soup recipe?

I love that recipe. That cookbook is my favorite. My mom gave it to me years ago and I've used it so much that the binding is broken in two places and the jacket is ripped. I'm grateful for your lentil soup.

I love lentil soup too. Yum. They will come around, I think it took my family at least 10 tastings to love it.
